CALL OUT: for mutantspace events series JUNE 2010

After the great success of our two event series in 2009 we intend on hosting another series in June, in Cork. Details of everything we did is on our PREVIOUS EVENTS page . If you’re interested in getting involved in:

PRODUCING

Visual art, literature, gigs, theatre, film, spoken word, food events, street events, talks, parties, etc

DESIGN

Designing images/look of event series, coming up with innovative and low cost ways for advertising shows and events, etc

VOLUNTEERING

Generally helping out, distributing marketing material, online posting, doing the door, ticket sales, etc

DOCUMENTATION

Taking photos of events, notes, blogs, etc of process up to, during and after events

• This is about realising your ideas through mutantspace.ie
  If you’re interested in producing an event, running a competition, want to host a collaborative show, an online project or put forward a project please write it up and send it in to me. I’ll then post up your idea into the ezine, send your idea out through the mailing list, put it on the site and we can go from there. If anyone bites we’ll go with it. If not we’ll leave it up for another time
• The events will all take place in June
  Not sure when - we can make that decision based on individual projects - but it would be good to have them over a long weekend rather than spread out. You could also host a mutantspace event in your own local area as part of the series (we don’t have to produce them all in the same place) and we could webcam it, document it, etc and post info into mutantspace
• Remember to look at our resources and use them. The whole point is that we do this with no funding
• All ticket sales will be divided by those involved in the project
• We will be doing another Mutant Shorts competitionWe started our MUTANT ROOMS series last November with KITCHENS. This time round it will be SITTING ROOMS. A form and details will be posted here shortly
• We will also be doing another MUTANT CABARET
  The last one in November was really successful. A number of you have already been in contact with me about it, I haven’t forgotten and you will be included in the first show. If we get enough interest we can always do two shows
• Doesn’t matter how crazy your idea is. Write it up and email it in
  We can always work through it and come up with a good solid project. Last year we set up google docs for each event. They’re a handy online collaborative document that make for easy discussion between interested parties
• As soon as the ideas start coming in I’ll post them into our WORK IN PROGRESS page 
  I’ll be sending out more info in the next month. In the meantime get your thinking caps on and let’s make it happen. All you have to do is email your idea in and I’ll take it from there

Remember, although the event will produced by mutantspace.ie the running will be done by you and others you get to help you through our online resource.

Submissions really do have to be in by Friday 2nd April to give us a fair chance of producing them by june so please don’t procrastinate. Get your ideas in now. We can then tie them down and get working on the details, the nitty gritty, the production and logistic end of things.
