Chris Percival
Chris Percival is the owner of Offbeat records, in Cork City, and an experienced solo and session musician with 6 band and 3 solo albums under his belt. Over the last 25 years Chris has played rock, funk, ambient country, electronica and afrobeat. Now exploring the possibilities of the acoustic guitar we are sure music lovers will be blown away by his solo acoustic gigs and new solo album.
Chris’ accomplished solo acoustic guitar playing fuses elements of blues, folk, country, rock, african soukous and classical styles in a wide range of traditional and alternative tunings, with the emphasis placed firmly on melody and a sweet tonality. This is all showcased to great effect on his latest solo instrumental album ‘Sonorific’ available here and all good download and online retail services.
From the lively Ode to Stevie Ray, through the delicacy of the Westminster Chimes in Country & Westminster, to his ferocious re-creation of thunder & lightning in The Storm we are certain that music lovers of all persuasions will love not just the style and quality of Chris’ playing, but also the memorable nature of the music which is all his own original compositions.
Chris was also a member of african fusion band Sumu and acoustic duo gigs with fellow Sumu bandmember Niwel Tsumbu are spectacular events to watch out for.
